OCEAN WATCH
2024-2027
Improve knowledge of cetaceans in French Polynesia, as well as characterize and limit the anthropogenic threats they face, to make French Polynesia a real player in their preservation.
Aware of its responsibility towards these emblematic species, French Polynesia has mobilized to protect them. That's why Oceania has decided to get involved in the conservation of cetaceans in French Polynesia with this new Ocean Watch project, which integrates several dimensions of the issue.
To meet the management needs of the Managed Marine Area plan (Arrêté n°227 MCE of 14/03/2023), the main objective of this project is to improve knowledge of cetaceans in French Polynesia, as well as to characterize and limit the anthropogenic threats they face, in order to make French Polynesia a real player in their preservation.
